Doing better
9:26 p.m. x June 16, 2006

Kimberley is a lot better today. She's up playing and having fun, and hasn't had any pain medicine in 9 1/2 hours. She just has a thick white line in that section of her mouth now. She refused to eat popsicles and ice cream for her dad. She said she wanted the good stuff like Brittany and Ronald had, which happened to be tomato soup, and she apparently ate it with no problem. I'm supposed to take her back to the ER for a wound check tomorrow. I'll do that after work. I'm not concerned about that, though. If it healed this much in one day, it'll be practically gone tomorrow. I'm glad we didn't go through the ordeal of stitches and putting her under. It really wouldn't have been worth it. It makes me happy that they called the ear nose and throat specialist and he had enough common sense to weigh the risks instead of weighing his wallet like everyone else seemed to be. That's typical in any hospital though, and especially the one she ended up at. I do have to disagree with him on one thing though. If something heals this fast, I don't foresee it leaving any kind of a scar, but had she had a stitch, it definitely would have left one. Not that it matters because nobody will see the roof of her mouth, but still.
It doesn't matter though. The important thing is that she's okay and she's not hurting anymore. Maybe I can get some sleep tonight. I sure didn't get much last night.
