Okay, I'm so excited that I had to run right back and tell you all this before I forget.
I asked my cousin to let my cat in my bedroom a minute ago. When my cousin got to the door, the cat stood there meowing at her in her "I want something" tone. She never meows at me for that because I'm always the one to do it and I know what she wants. She was telling Des what she wanted because she knew that Des had never let her in there before. My cat communicated in a logical way and I understood it! I mean, of course it wasn't words but you know what I mean.
What an awesome cat I have!
